DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY


One of the most recent advances in X-ray mammography -– full field digital mammography -– is now available in the new Radiology/Imaging department.

Schools, doctors and community organizations in the Mt. Washington Valley are working together in the newly created 5-2-1-0 Partnership for Healthy Children to promote healthy lifestyles among local families.

The partnership is part of a larger initiative focusing on the prevention of childhood obesity in New Hampshire. The Foundation for Healthy Communities chose the Conway area as one of four pilot sites in the state to take part in this project and help spread the 5-2-1-0 Healthy NH message.

5 - Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day.

2 - Cut TV and computer time to 2 hours or less a day.

1 - Spend at least 1 hour of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day.

0 - Restrict soda and sugar-sweetened sports and fruit drinks.

LIVING WELL WITH CHRONIC DISEASE


Are you (or someone you love) dealing with a chronic health condition? If so, you know that it presents continuing challenges. Now, an evidence-based self-management program developed by Stanford University is being implemented in over 40 states with significant results.

The Memorial Hospital is now offering the six-week Living Well workshop series to the public on a regular basis. It is the first time the program will be available anywhere in New Hampshire.
